Shooting slide film, or colour positive film, like Fuji Velvia 50 is equal parts challenging, and, if done right, unbelievably rewarding. The colour saturation, especially the reds, are like nothing else.
I created this composition using the inherent lack of dynamic range in the film to create an image where the shadows served as a blank black canvas, devoid of detail. Doing so allowed me to use the light in a very different way.
