The rumours were true and The New Broadview Hotel's days were numbered.
Gentrification had reached the corner of Broadview and Queen Street East. I was reminded of this when I passed by this landmark on my bike one day. Luckily, I had my first film camera with me, my Pentax K1000 35mm, loaded with Kodak Tri-X black and white film. I chose the spot that would potentially work and waited for the composition to come into play.
The very next day, I passed by and everything was locked up - and soon after - demolition began. As a result, this image may very well be the last image of this landmark's final day of buisiness, as it was, since 1907.
